Dear Oak Lane Family & Friends,
Oak Lane's Leadership takes the health and well-being of our church family very seriously. To that end, we want to update you on the safety guidelines we have put in place as we have started to meet together again as a congregation. Concerns continue to grow regarding the spread of the Coronavirus and we want to share a few of the additional precautions we are making throughout the remainder of the flu season to ease any concerns that you may have.
Here’s what has changed:
-
WE ARE MEETING IN PERSON
If you choose to join us at Oak Lane:
-
We are sanitizing surfaces in all areas in order to keep everything clean.
-
Our staff and volunteer teams will wash their hands frequently and greet you with a smile and wave!
-
Additional hand sanitizer has been placed throughout the building.
-
We offer an overflow worship area that is livestreamed to allow you to continue to "social distance" from those around you.
-
We are avoiding hugs, handshakes, and high fives and instead will welcome each other with our words and waves.
-
Stay at home when you or a family member are sick.
-
If you or someone you know tests positive for the coronavirus, please let our office know so we can find a way to help, pray for everyone involved and take any necessary precautions here at Oak Lane.
-
WE ARE ALSO STREAMING LIVE ONLINE
To join us, please visit our Facebook page (facebook.com/OakLaneCC) at 10:30AM to view our live stream. A Facebook account is not needed to join in. You may access this stream from your phone using the Facebook App or from your computer using a web browser
Here’s what has NOT changed:
-
A GATHERING OF BELIEVERS
We’ve all heard the famous saying: The Church is not a building, Church is a people. Now, we have a great opportunity to truly live that out! While we may not be in the same room physically, we'll still be gathering together to turn our attention towards the One True God.
-
A TIME OF MUSICAL WORSHIP
Please join us in singing timely songs of praise and hope as our Oak Lane Worship Team leads us both in house and online. Our worship set will take place as usual, and you may join in from the comfort of your couch or from our facility. Feel free to join in!
-
AN ENCOURAGING MESSAGE
In uncertain times like these, it is important to turn our focus towards the One who we can be certain in. Our messages each Sunday will remind us to do just that.
-
A TIME OF COMMUNION
We'll continue take time in our service to join in communion together as a church family. Communion is being served in pre-packaged containers that are available at the entrance when you arrive. We encourage those of you who choose to watch online to purchase the items you deem necessary to do so with your loved ones at home.
-
AN OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE
Our mission of being a church With Christ, In Community, and On Mission is still active, even if our ministries aren't all meeting physically. Your faithful contribution allows us to continue to serve our people and communities during these uneasy times. There are red offering boxes placed around the church where you may continue to place your offerings. You may also give online at OakLanecc.com/giving, you can text your gift to 901.244.4364 or you may drop your offering by the church office.
Oak Lane's Leadership takes the health and well-being of our church family very seriously. To that end, we hope you understand our decisions.
-
While we do exercise appropriate precautions, we don’t live in fear. We place our hope in God’s power for our health and protection. We do not serve a God of chaos and confusion but of order and peace.
-
We ask that you remain prayerful and committed. It would be easy to give into fear and fade out of our responsibilities to the church. We ask that each of you remain faithfully engaged in attendance, giving and service to Jesus our King.
